The Inuit Circumpolar Council (ICC) is looking for an Inuit Knowledge Advisor for the ICC Greenland Office in Nuuk.
Overview:

Tasks:
As the Inuit Knowledge Advisor at ICC, you will work closely with ICC’s Environment and Climate Advisor and Marine Management Advisor, and report directly to the Executive and will work on tasks such as:
a. engaging hunters and fishers on their knowledge, expertise, and contributions to our understanding of ecosystems, with a focus on the Pikialasorsuaq region;
b. coordinating a series of meetings and workshops with hunters, fishers, and other knowledge holders;
c. working on reports, public communications, and research publications to support ICC’s ongoing work on biodiversity and research at the national and international level, and;
d.supporting the advancement of Inuit Knowledge in the implementation of the Circumpolar Biodiversity Monitoring Programme in Kalaallit Nunaat.
It will be an advantage if you have experience working with Inuit Knowledge, hunting and fishing, and general meeting organization. The work will primarily take place in Greenlandic and English.
Profile:
We are looking for a motivated applicant holding a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a field of study related to hunting and fishing, Inuit knowledge, cultural practice, biology, or other natural science, and who has an interest in working directly with hunters and fishers in Greenland. If you are a recent graduate of Ilisimatusarfik or another educational institution and are looking for experience in project coordination, community engagement, and research, this is an added positive.
Salary and Employment Conditions:
Salaray and employment conditions are according to qualifications. This position is employed on an individual contract. Housing accommodation is not offered.
Duration of Employment:
ICC has received funding support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation for the employment of an Inuit Knowledge Advisor until mid 2029.
